Extension Lecture on “SOFTWARE ENGNEERING”

t is the matter of pride that the department of Computer Science organized extension lecture on “SOFTWARE Testing Techniques and methodologies” on 20-01-12 for MSC (IT) 2nd Year and BCA 3rd Year Students. DR. SIMPLE JINDAL was invited to put light on this topic. The students studying software Engineering as one of their course subject found it really fruit full and knowledge full session. Dr. Jindal cleared all doubts of the students in that particular subject topic. S.GURMEET SINGH DHALIWAL – MANAGING DIRECTOR, BFGI appreciated the department’s effort of conducting such special session for the students. DR.PARDEEP KAURA – DEPUTY DIRECTOR (Academics), BFGI congratulated the department for the successful organization of the event. DR. W. S. BRAR – PRINCIPAL, BFC, said that Our College is committed to provide maximum on its part and this extension lecture is a just an instance of a continuous process. MR. Extension Lecture on Artificial Intelligence

It was a great opportunity today for students of MSc IT IInd year being part of such an interactive session organized by department of computer Science on “Artificial Intelligence”. Dr. Manish Jindal, Associate Professor from Punjab University Regional centre, Muktsar was particularly invited for this session to provide the deep knowledge on certain topics and issues in Artificial Intelligence. His demonstration was based on the future prospects of “How is a computer thinking like a Man”.
The excitement of students could be easily guessed as there was house full in the seminar hall. At the end of the session students asked queries from the expert.

Earlier Mr. Amandeep Singh, Hod, Department of Computer Science formally welcomed Dr. Manish Jindal. Mr. Manish Kumar Bansal, Vice Principal, Baba Farid College gave a vote of thank to Dr. Jindal.

Dr. Pardeep Kaura, Associate Director, Baba Farid College said that these kind of lectures do not just give extra knowledge to the students but also provide a chance to meet scholars. Dr. Kaura added in that these events are especially beneficial for those students who want to be a part of research in that particular subject area.

Extension Lecture on” Windows Structure”

Department of computer science, Baba Farid College organized an extension lecture on “Windows Structure” for students of BCA-I Year. Er. Arun Kumar Garg from Department of Computer Science, Baba Farid College was specially invited to highlight the key areas of the topic. Mr. Garg explained the topic by Question answer method. It was a good experience for the students of being a part of such an interactive session. Mrs. Ranbir Kaur Brar, Head of Department, appreciated the efforts of organizing committee. Dr. Pardeep Kaura, Associate Director, Baba Farid College, assured about the continuation of such type lecturers in future also. Dr. W.S. Extension Lecture on “Computer Programming”

Department of computer Science(PG), Baba Farid College organized an Extension lecture for MSC IT and PGDCA classes on “Programming Languages”. The Department specially invited the Prof. Navdeep Kochhar as an expert of the subject . Er. Kochhar explained the programming language concept taking  Java language as an example. Er. Kochhar made good use of  videos during his lecture to explain the topic. At the end Prof. Kochhar gave answers to the student’s queries . The event was graced by Mr. Gurbax Lal and Mrs. Ranbir Kaur Brar. Mr. Manish Bansal , Vice Principal, Baba Farid College encouraged the students to be more logical and determinant in their studies. Dr. Pardeep Kaura, Associate Director, Baba Farid College, encouraged the students to work hard. S. Seminar on Computer Operating System

In the first session of this lecture Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Reader, Punjabi University Patiala covered the topic "E-Governance" next in the second session Dr. Amardeep Singh, Reader, Punjabi University, Patiala highlighted the details of Soft-Computing. The session started with a warm welcome by Mr. Amandeep Singh, Head, Department of Computer Science,

Baba Farid College, Bathinda. Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal explained to the audience the role of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) and E-Governance in society. He elaborated this topic by taking the example of 'Indian Culture'. Afterwards Dr. Amardeep Singh started this lecture with basics of Computer Hardware and Windows Operating System. He explained the embedded technologies, security issues, challenges in designing hardware, then he thoroughly defined technologies named. Nano Computing, Quantum computing and DNA Computing under soft computing. In the end of both sessions students asked queries. Mr. Manish Bansal, Vice-Principal, Baba Farid College thanked the guests.
