Dr. Kesar Singh Bhangoo, Professor, Department of Economics, Punjabi University, Patiala delivered an extension lecture on 24th March, 2011.The topic was Lucas island model. He discussed price variation between the markets from one island to another island and imperfection in the whole economy. It was very informative. His lecture was interactive and students gained a lot. It was wonderful experience for the faculty members also. Dr. Bhangoo was successful in imparting the enriched knowledge and discussions on valuable issues to the students.

Dr. Anupama Uppal, Reader, Punjabi University Patiala, Regional Centre, Bathinda, delivered a lecturer on agricultural marketing on 21st March, 2011. It was very informative. Her lecture was interactive and she discussed The various contemporary issues of agricultural marketing in India. Dr. Anupama Uppal also discussed the negative externalities e.g. how social status discourages individual not to work in their own field. Education was the main reason of high demand for hired labour. Students get really benefited by such an enriched and elaborative guest lecture by the vast knowledge of the resource person in the field of Economics.

DR GIAN SINGH, Prof., Department of Economics, Punjabi University Patiala delivered an informative lecture on the topic 'Problems of Small and Indebted Farmers in Punjab. He discuss various problems of small and marginal farmers in Punjab and in India. He also highlighted various causes and consequences of famous proverb 'A farmer is born in debt , lives in debt and dies in debt. Further, he suggested many policy implications on the part of government which will reduce the incidence of suicides by the farmers.

DR ANUPAMA UPPAL, Reader, Department of Economics, Punjabi University Regional Centre, Bathinda, Delivered a lecture on the theme 'Development Economics'. Her lecture was very interesting and informative. She discussed how advanced industrialized countries of the world exploited poor and under developed countries to serve their own selfish purposes. She gave famous example of India and explained how British exploited Indian economy to settle the industries in their own home country.
