Seminar on Digital Electronics |
The Students of BCA Ist year in Baba Farid College gave presentations on Digital Elctronics. Overall 13 students explained different topics in Digital electronics in this presentation session. The session started with the presentation of Amandeep Kaur and Mandeep Kaur covering basics of digital electronics. Afterward Swati, Khushboo, Gurpreet Kaur, Ramandeep Kaur, Arashdeep Singh, Padam Mittal, Vishesh, Sumandeep Kaur, Tejinder Singh, Rajveer Kaur and Meghna explained different topics in Digital electronics. The presence of Dr. Pardeep Kaura, Associate Director, Baba Farid College was a big motivation for the students. S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, MD, Baba Farid Group of Institutions appreciated the efforts made by students in the very first year of their graduation. Dr. Pardeep Kaura directed the head of department to continue this kind of open discussions among students. Dr. H. L. Jasuja, Head of Physics Department as an expert answered queries of the students. Mr. Manish Bansal, Vice principal, Baba Farid College ensured the continuous organization of open discussion sessions. The Head, Department of Computer Science Mr. Amandeep Singh, Mr. Gurbax Lal and Mrs. Ranbir Kaur Brar chaired the session as subject expert. |

Seminar on Computer Operating System |

A Seminar was conducted in Baba Farid College that is related to computer field. In this Seminar Prof. Navdeep Kochhar and Prof. Arun Kumar gave excellent lecture on Operating System. This Seminar was Organised for BCA Final Year Students, Students shows keen interest in this seminar and also requested to conduct more seminars of such type in future. After lecturing there was important Questioning related to Operating System in which students discussed lot of problems. In This Seminar. A Seminar on New Data Storage Techniques |

The department organized a seminar on “New Data Storage techniques”. Dr. Raman Maini, Reader, Punjabi University Patiala appraised the students about new techniques for data storage in computer along with their merits and demerits. Dr. Maini explained the SAN, WAN, MAN to the students. After that Dr. Maini answered the student’s queries. The seminar was graced by esteemed S. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Managing Director of Baba Farid Group of Institutes. |

A Seminar on Natural Language Processing |

To enlighten the students the department organized a technical seminar on 30-11-2009 In this seminar Mr. Vishal Goyal, Assistant Professor, Punjabi University Patiala informed the students about “ Natural Language Processing” in computer. He also showed his new software which can convert Hindi language into Punjabi Language. The students had also asked queries to which Mr. Vishal answered at the end of the seminar. |

One Week Training M.Sc. IT |
Department of Computer science organized a one week workshop on Dot Net technologies for M.Sc. IT IInd year students. The training was organized in collaboration with Innovation Centre at BFGI. Ms. Namita , trainer and developer at innovation centre explored various aspects of Software Development in .NET technology . While talking, Mr. Amandeep Singh, HoD, Department of Computer Science, said that as this training is not the part of their University syllabus, still we are providing this extra training to our students to give them extra knowledge and hands on experience in advance technologies.. He further added that this training will also help the final year students in their Project work. Mr. Manish Bansal, Vice Principal, BFC, said that the department is committed to provide enough technical skills to the students to make them employable. Dr. Pardeep Kaura, Deputy Director (Academics), BFGI appreciated the department efforts and inputs provided to the students.
